How to seize opportunities in the construction of optical network cities, increase market share, improve their own core technology levels and enhance their international competitiveness are major concerns for domestic optical fiber manufacturers. The domestic optical fiber manufacturers have already reached a consensus: three aspects of product performance, application mode, and raw materials, efforts to achieve independent innovation of optical fiber to meet the needs of optical network city construction.
The industrial chain of optical fiber mainly includes three production links: optical rod, optical fiber, and optical fiber. Many key technologies are monopolized by foreign companies. The development of Fiber Closure technology has brought about a tremendous increase in the competitiveness of domestic manufacturers. Such as fiber closure, because of its high-tech content, high investment, high profit margins and other characteristics, in the optical fiber communications industry chain, the core parts and high-end links. Prior to this, domestic light rods had to be imported into Europe, the United States, Japan, and other countries, and their high prices greatly limited the domestic market competitiveness of optical fiber. At present, many domestic optical fiber companies gradually realize the self-production of some light rods through large investments and have broken foreign technology and price monopoly.
